At times, it can feel impossible to break the cycle of shame and withdrawal. When we do not reach our health goals, we can feel self-reproach, a sense of failure, and defeat. What’s worse is that these feelings often lead us to pull away from others or give up on our goals altogether, which only makes us feel worse in the long run.

About the expert, Natasha Robinson-Link, Ph.D.

Natasha Robinson-Link, PhD, is a Pennsylvania and Massachusetts licensed clinical psychologist. She has extensive training with evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She integrates CBT and ACT approaches to help people with eating disorders, behavioral weight loss, and mood disorders. She currently works as a staff psychologist at Penn Medicine’s Center for Weight and Eating Disorders and the Center for CBT and Mindfulness.
